The University of Liverpool hosted the Liverpool Business and Property Court Forum for a fantastic session on injunctions on Tuesday 11th July 2023 in the Brett Lecture Theatre in the new Yoko Ono Building.
Our sizeable audience of practitioners and students were joined by four speakers. HHJ Cadwallader introduced the event and the speakers. They were Mr Justice Fancourt, Vice Chancellor of the County Palatine of Lancaster (pictured), Paul McGrath KC of Essex Court Chambers, Andrew Vinson of Exchange Chambers, and Jack Moore of Oriel Chambers. Each speaker took a specific aspect of injunctions as their subject matter neatly dovetailing with each other as the session unfolded.
Paul McGrath KC’s discussion of Lord Denning’s contribution to injunctions was particularly interesting, as was Mr Justice Fancourt’s examination of injunctions in the context of crypto assets. Amongst other points, the judge predicted that the area might attract a law report series of its own. Jack Moore provided a very useful checklist on injunctions. Andrew Vinson took the audience through some interesting points on how practitioners might approach the area of injunctions.
A full recording of the session can be viewed here (forthcoming).
