The LBPCF were very pleased to host Mrs Justice Cockerill for a lunch event and evening in person lecture on the 3rd May 2022 here in Liverpool. The full text of Mrs Justice Cockerill’s lecture can be read here. Mrs Justice Cockerill is the judge in charge of the commercial court. As well as a leading jurist the judge has also written two well received books on medieval history. The books are on Eleanor of Aquitaine and Eleanor of Castile.
In her lecture at the University of Liverpool’s School of Law and Social Justice Mrs Justice Cockerill examined commercial law developments in Liverpool, some of which are relied on today. The judge also examined some of her well-know predecessors on the bench.
